Chris Hightower videos

Nope, I am saying that we cue makers who know Chris should know better than to purchase videos not from the original sources. Chris is supporting those of us with lesser knowledge. He deserves to dircetly recieve royalties from us. It is quite possible that those tapes could be sold several times to several people. None of which may ever be a cue maker. I am suggesting that those who have already done buisness directly with Chris wouldn't want to purchase his videos from other sources. I know in good faith that I could contact Joe, Chris, or Brian and they would answer any questions I asked regaurding their videos. These guys are not just selling videos for a buck. They stand behind their products and techniques.

Jimbo.
I have both orig videos and book that i paid for,i havent looked at them in about 5 yrs,do i have to keep them forever, never thought about selling but now i will

I have several originals as I have bought out other cuemakers and happened to get extras in the deal.

the biggest thing is by buying directly from chris he offer great customer service with his product.

buying 2nd hand doesnt offer this service

no service

I didn't realize that you spoke on behalf of Chris regarding providing service ( maybe Chris would confirm he will not provide service to anyone who did not buy from him originally).
I have a Hightower deluxe I bought used around 7 years ago and have contacted Chris on many occassions and have met him the last couple of years in Valley Forge , and he has yet to tell me he can't help me out ( and have bought from him many times).
Although I seldom post here, I probably spend an hour a day reviewing posts to gain as much knowledge to make me a better repair person/cue maker, but this post should have ended with a concensus that yes it good to circulate used goods as long as it's not a reproduction, period........

well im sure your post was aimed at me.

to answer your question no i dont speak for chris. any half witted buisness person knows this answer

the difference between you and the other guy is you buy things from chris parts and upkeep on the lathe. chis is not going to give free cuemaking lessons bc someone has his video second hand.

i think we established the circulation rules. that was a given...:D

most want to see them buy direct. we all like chris a great deal and i am personally very thankful. it makes me angry to even THINK someone is trying to rip him off

Personally, I think it's great business for Chris not to mention good marketing if people are able to pass original copies or used equipments to other. Chris will probably pick up more business for selling additional parts or replacement parts to the new users. Chris would probably hope the person watching the used video (Marketing) would be interested enough to buy one of his lathe.

I would also think that it would be beneficial to Chris that someone buying his used video call him up...great time to pick up contacts for a potential clients. :)

Regards

Maybe Chris could start a program where people could trade in their originals for an updated version at a small but reasonable cost.
