Joe Proper model B lathe.

Looking for info. on how to make a guard to fit over the chuck.....so I do not ever touch it while spining.

Just one brain fart......I could do some damage to fingers
or knukles.... NUMBER ONE RULE...Safety First!

Maybe some kind of a plactic(with base ~3"deep) lid from some container?
cut hole so it fits over the front of the chuck.
Make one out of card board?

Anyone have somekind of self-make guard for the chuck?

If you do a search, I believe someone had built one and posted pics of it. This was about1 year ago, I think. It's a good idea, but I have an 8" chuck on my atlas, no more room for a guard. My little lathe is the one that keeps wacking my fingers and knuckles.
