CJ Wiley Runs 29 balls in 1P using TOI

he was playing better in the 90s than now

You should not have beaten on Little John like that. You had him missing balls that were harder to miss than make. LOL!

Bustemante had been playing him 10/7, 9/6 so he was getting some action. That's the first time I've played one pocket in awhile, the only guy I've played in the last 6 months is Forrest from here in Dallas.

Cliff Joyner and Richie Richardson were playing 10 Ball, then I came back and they were playing One Pocket. They're always exciting to watch and I was surprised that Richie beat Cliff playing 10 Ball.

I ask Bustemante if he thought the players these days were playing better than when he first came to the United States and he said "No," he was playing better in the 90s...that was interesting. I remember playing him when he first came to a Pro Tournament in L.A. at the Burbank Open.....I remember feeling the pressure, but edged him out 13/12.....he was a "Ball Pocketing Machine" that's for sure, and his break was incredible, you just had to sit in your chair and hope he couldn't see the one ball.

I got to see my Francisco Bustemante and talk to him for awhile. I really respect him as a player/gentleman, and we've had many battles on that "Green Felt"....it's funny because some of the matches neither one of us can even remember who won....that's "priceless". :) 'The Game is the Teacher'

CJ, maybe if both of you can't remember, then you never played the game you're thinking or.

staying there requires a great deal of sacrifice with personal life.

We both remember playing, it's just we've played a lot of gambling matches and sometimes they "run together". I know he won because I remember coming back to Texas determined to practice and raise my playing level back up.

I hadn't been playing as much as I should have and sometimes if you win all the time you'll get lackadaisical. It's happened to me a few times in my career and I have a feeling I'm not the only one. Getting to the top is very tough, staying there requires a great deal of sacrifice with personal life.

That one pocket forum has a very odd assortment of characters

Hey Mr. CJ,
You found the site, Good. I have never been over there.
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

That one pocket forum has a very odd assortment of characters, I'm not sure who many of them are, but..... It seems like there's a couple of old time players that are constantly fighting over who can insult the other one in the most clever way or something....it's bizarre to say the least.

I was hoping to get to learn and talk about one pocket, and it seems this is the last thing going on, maybe I'm missing something???

It just stands out more than here because here, there's sooo many more people and posts its easy to miss all the garbage.

You'll be alright over there.

I am surprised people think any of the old time players could have beaten Efren

Yeah, I recognize a few people now that I read a bit closer. I am surprised people think any of the old time players could have beaten Efren at one pocket. Even Scott Frost would have the edge on anyone before his time I would think. That game changed and evolved quite bit because of Efren.

Efren is a champion Billiard player as well, and one thing's for certain NO ONE could have beaten him at one rail billiards. His high run is over 280....he could spot anyone in the history of the game and stole their money, his average is close to 30 per inning. This puts him in a league all by himself in this discipline.
