Some of you have badly misunderstood how things work at Turning Stone. It is the policy of AZB to give players the choice as to whether or not they will appear on the stream. Players do NOT have the right to refuse any table assignments given by the Tournament staff. And players who do not wish to appear on the live stream may STILL be required to play on the stream table, we would just go to a black screen while they are shooting and inform the viewers as to the situation via a scroll text. We would still do play-by-play commentary on their match.
We do not think many players would wish to turn down the live stream table. It is the best way they have of returning value to their sponsors at these events (we had over 60,000 viewers this past week, up 50% from last time) and the players DO consider things like sponsors when they make those decisions. A sponsor whose player chose to have a black screen might have some rather curious questions to ask about that.
