I read an article about Danny Harriman being a class act at a pro tournament he played (and lost) at. I am here to tell you, they did not build him up at all. I had the pleasure of watching him play last Sunday. He is the epitome of fine pool playing. I was extremely impressed with his playing ability, as well as his overall demeanor. I think we need alot more players like Danny Harriman.

Talking of Class Acts...

Tony Robles earned himself a lot of respect this year too... It was many English fan's first opportunity to see him play at The Mosconi Cup this year. Plenty of people I spoke to, said that they were impressed with his professional attitude!

I watched Danny Harriman playing in Reno several years ago. It was about 2 or 3 in the morning and he was matched up with one of the Filipino players (none of the top names) and Danny acted like it was 2 or 3 in the afternoon. The Filipino guy looked exhausted and he was trying to rack the balls and Danny kept saying the rack wasn't right. After about the 3rd re-rack, the Filipino guy asks Danny in frustration what was wrong with the rack. Danny walks over to the side of the table and points to the 1 ball and asks the guy, "Do they rack like this in the Phillippines?" The 1 ball was about 1/2" above the spot. I watched them play for about 45 minutes and I heard Danny talking a lot but never heard him cuss once. He used a lot of corny words like "Jimminy Crickett" or "gee whilickers" and after a while, you just had to laugh. Of course his opponent wasn't laughing because he was too busy trying to get the rack right!

I couldn't agree more KSlusher. Danny is a class act for sure. The guy that won that tournament, Dave Matlock, is also a class act. You guys must draw the best in attitudes UP there, LOL.

Yes, I have to agree with Hemicudas and pooltablemech, Dave Matlock is also a great player and a class act.

I've never heard of Dave Matlock but I'm glad to hear that there are classy players out there! We need more like him! Seems to me most of the Filipino players have a lot of class when it comes to the way they play. It would certainly be nice to have some American players that can match that behavior! I'm looking forward to seeing Mr Matlock in action!

You look up classy player in the dictionary and there's a pic of Dave.....lol! Everybody has had their own experiences with certain players........and have different views on what they think about each one. ...........and next to Daves pic in the dictionary is Buddy Halls!
