Well it's that time again. The New England Pool and Billiard Hall Of Fame will be inducting it's Newest class on Friday Feb. 2, 2012.

Here is the list of new inductee's:

The next generation of great players include:

Nelson Oliverira, Mass.

Dave Hall, Maine

Mike Rinella, Mass.

Joe Tucker, Rhode Island

George Sansousi, New York (deceased)

Tony Robles, New York

Billy, The Kid, Lanna, Rhode Island

Liz Ford, Mass

Steve Taverniere, Rhode Island

Matt Tetreault, Mass.

Shane Cody, New Hampshire

Jarrod Clowrey, Mass.

Ed Gregory, Rhode Island (deceased)

Allison Mossilman, Conn.

Dennis Hatch, New York

That's it for this years class folks. I know there are many more deserving players out there and I have already started next years list.

Here's a few of them: Rich Ross, Mass. Joe Kiley, Mass.(deceased), Joe Dupuis, Mass. Bob Dargis, Conn. Just to name a few.

If you know of any more, I should consider, please feel free to suggest them. It would also help if you are suggesting deceased people to give me some information and contacts I may be able to use. I have limited time and resources. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tom McGonagle

Tom,

Just curious why NY is being included in the New England HOF? Nothing wrong with those selections, just curious.

Thanks,
Koop

Koop,

Mike Zuglan is a member of our hall.

The three this year and there will be more, all won numerous tournaments in New England. That's hard to ignore.

Not that i am discriminating just seems like there is a lot of players in there 30s and early 40s on this list. Just my opinion by the way I just dont see a hall of fame having individuals of such a young age and still playing and competing at a very high level (basically still young in the playing careers) in a hall of fame type setting

Dave in Boston,

I've had arguments from both sides.

I held off on some of these players for a long time. It's their time.

They can add to their resumes and change their place on the wall anytime they wish to. The only thing is: It will be at their expense.

Tom,

Thank you for the response.
Not saying their accomplishments should be ignored. In fact, they each have banners all over Snookers for the Ocean State events they won. I just thought it was for New England players which is why I asked.

How about Bob Hunt,he is a great player from that area, more of a gambling player then a tournament player, but none the less a great player in his time, and a great guy also!

Bobby Hunt is already a member.

Thank you though. I'll post the list of members within the next week or so.
