I too, have that exact cue. Mine has red stained finish. The model is the d-23 it is one nice hitting cue. I don't think I will ever sell mine. I bought it in 1992 from a friend of mine for 150.00, that included the case. I sent it back to McDermott to get refinished about five years ago and it came back looking brand new for about 200.00. I shoot with Josey's now but every so often I will shoot with the old gal just to keep her sharp.

Solid old cues, back when McDermotts played good.
funny, I sold my D23 back in 1991 or 92 in Leesville Louisiana to help raise cash for my first Joss (J15)...I, too, loved that cue, great hit. I think I probably played my best pool with that cue....it had a cork wrap I hated, but the feel and control of that stick were outrageous!
i have one of those, took me a while to find one. I have a few different D series cues, they play great-better now that they are a few years old. I like the one's in this thread better than mine, mine has been refinished, Dave Matlock played with a D-23 I think.
