"Classic" Pool?

So I am searching cable TV for pool matches to record using DVR, and I find that several WPBA matches are listed under the Classic Pool title.

What's "classic" about the WPBA?
Or to be more specific...(so as not to offend anyone who might think I am picking on Women's pool), what is classic about professional matches that were only played as recently as 10 or 15 years ago?

I know we all want pool on TV and I shouldn't complain...well...I am not complaining...but at least they could get it right....:)

Maybe I am just up too early on a Saturday morning (08:00)...:)
 
ESPN Classics may show last week's football game if it was especially exciting, or if it included some kind of historic performance or a player than went on to great things. Usually, they choose from events that ESPN had covered when the events first aired.

ESPN, on its classic network, for the sports it covers, shows games/matches they perceive to be defining moments in the sport. In the world of ESPN, coverage of WPBA events has been far more common than coverage of men's pool, so WPBA pool has had high visibility with ESPN, which explains why most of the matches they show on ESPN Classics network are WPBA matches.

And, yes, WPBA pool is classic in every sense of the word.

They have old tapes.
They have holes in their schedule to fill
They have sponsors that will pay.

"CLASSIC" is a term used by the WPBA for most of the events they have on the tour (ex. San Deigo Classic). It goes back to a time when they had several "types" of tournaments I think. So basically it's just used as a marketing label. ESPN shows many of the matches on ESPN Classic.
