Hi everyone,

I`m new in the business of cleaning shaft, installing tips and ferrules. Can anyone could tell me what kind of product you guy`s used to clean ferrules.

Thanks.

Lucas

That's one way to do it but I'd want to know the composition of the ferrule before offering a blanket statement.
If the ferrule is of a porous mtrl., just cleaning it will only be treating the symptom.
Ideally, you'd want to address the reason it's becoming dirty in the first place.

Magic eraser works for me too. The fibers of those little sponges are good at pulling dirt and chalk without removing too much material. If you slice with a razor and rip the rest of the piece off, It will leave a spot that is a little rougher then the rest of the sponge, I like to use that edge because it seems to reach, and pull dirt out better then the smooth part.

Like already mentioned though if the material is porous then It really needs to be sealed somehow. Preferably before any sanding if that's needed, because sanding dust can get into the pores, cause staining issues, and It is not always easy to get out, sometimes It's darn near impossible. You have to make sure It's clean before sealing though.

I used to use soft scrub but there is probably nothing that works any better then Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Both can just be found at the grocery store.

Thank you all, this is great information. I will test some of those products and I`ll get back to you guy`s.

Wish me all, good luck.

My wife buys the one with bleach & I have used it with good results. Remember that ANY liquid that gets on the shaft wood can raise the grain...JER

I like the one with baking powder. I find the one with bleach yellows the wood with time.
