Cleaning tables

I know I'll get slammed for this but I have always used a Oreck vacuum w/ rotating brush to clean my tables. I just recently recovered all my tables using Championship Tournament 3030 which I have always used. I decided to go the route suggested in these forums and used warm water and a litte Bounty. This seemed to bleach out the color. I then just used warm water and they still seem to be bleaching out. I don't know if our city water has to much clorine in it or what but I think I am going back to the vacuum. I have never had a problem like this using it. I also use water after three or four days of vacuuming but don't seem to have this problem.

Don't get me wrong, but the 3030 is a descent cloth. Next time you buy a cloth try a simonis and see if you have the same problems.

3030

I agree, Simonis is a very good cloth. I just put it on my 9 footer. I have 11 7 foot tables and I have found that with the play that they get the Simonis does not hold up. My supplier at one time tried tlking me into switching so I covered two tables one day. One in Simonis and one in 3030. In a weeks time, I had 5 holes in the Simonis. I believe 3030 has the best durability out there.

If you keep up with the tips on your cues...you may not have had the nicks in the cloth in the first place. Nicks in the cloth is one of the worst ways of judging the durability and wear-ability of a cloth as far as I'm concerned!!!!!! There is NO such protection from nicks in Championship cloth any more than there is in Simonis...or any other cloth made on earth...if there was...there would only be one kind of cloth on all pool tables today!

True - because it's the heaviest at close to 27oz weight but listed as 24oz. Water and Bounty? Try a "damp" cloth, water only. Helps remove marks and shouldn't affect the cloth.
