Clearing over linen wraps

Ive heard a bit about putting a clear coat over a linen wrap, but will it really feel like a wrapless cue afterwards? Will I be able to feel where the linen sarts and ends, or can a cuemaker get it completely smooth?

My Muecci has linen wrap that is cleared over and it feels completely like a wrapless cue. You cannot feel nor see where the linen wraps starts or ends.

When you say you cant see it, you mean you cant see a difference in the cues clearcoat to the wraps, right? Ive never seen one cleared over, but I thought it meant you could still see the linen

You can see it. Why on earth would you want to put a coat on linen????

I just have never understood why anyone would cover a linen wrap. Just buy a wrapless cue. I know that a lot of people with these Southwests, and Scruggs, etc are all jealous of the Meuccis, but really?

If it is done correctly you will not feel where the linen starts and ends.

He asked if you were able to feel where the linen wrap starts and where it ends.. I replied no nor can you see it (meaning for those who are literary impaired) you cant see the end or feel the end of the piece of linen in the beginning or the end of the wrap.

Why would you cover linen you ask...I have no idea as I did not cover it, it came that way when it was given to me. I personally like the feel of the linen wrap but I like my meucci as well.
