Cleveland, place to play.

I am going to be in Cleveland for a couple days. Where is the best place to play?

Cheap one pocket seems to be my game of choice these days.
 
Last time I was through that area I stopped into a place called Continuous Play Billiards.

The room had older Diamonds and had no trouble there. I found another room that was very well kept in the same area called Raxx.
 
Older Diamond (red label) tables play horribly- but if that is all there is what can you do- Same situation here in SW Florida- Diamond Billiards is the only decent PH within 100 miles of Naples Fl and the red labels are bad- you can hit a ball perfect and it just won't go in the pocket.
I shake my head whenever I leave that place- like how in the world did these tables get designed like this- I know they play much better now with the newer tables. Why would Diamond not agree to replace or upgrade their older tables with such a bad original design- or maybe they have and some rooms just don't bother?

Big Tables:

Continuous Play Billiards: Located 10 minutes south of downtown in Parma. This would be my first suggestion for one-pocket action. Older style diamond tables.

Long Green Billiards: Located 5 minutes east of downtown. It's not in a very good neighborhood and has 99% black patrons. They have a doorbell to get in and out which supposedly keeps the riff raff out. Lots of one pocket action and I've been told it's safe. Combination of older style diamond tables and brunswicks.

River City Billiards: Located 20 minutes west of downtown. Older style diamond tables. Smaller pool hall. Not sure about action as I don't go there much.

Wickliffe Lanes: Bowling alley located 20 minutes east of downtown. Anniversary tables that all play pretty shitty. A handful of guys there gamble but you have to come at the right time.

Dee's Lakeside Billiards: Located 30-40 minutes west of downtown. All new diamonds. Not sure how many but it looks nice (never been)

If you're willing to travel an hour or so you can go to Icebreakers in Youngstown or Fiddlesticks in Canton. Fiddlesticks will have more one pocket action than Icebreakers but Icebreakers has a lot of bar box gamblers.

There are also handful of nice bars with diamond bar boxes that get a lot of traction from leagues: Rookies, Bar CLE, Chuggers, Giovanni's, Pizza & Pub, Razzles.

FYI: RAXX has recently closed down.
