Clicking sounds with some layered tips?

Allot of layered tips after installing seem to have a clicking sound when striking the cueball.

In search of a replacement to the Moori med, I am looking for a replacement tip that doesn't give me any clicking sounds, and grabs the chalk effectively and if it not to much to ask, doesn't get extremely hard after a couple weeks of play.

Anyone know if a Kamui Black soft would fit this request? Or should I stick to Milkduds?

Being that Kamui tips are really tall tips, can I also cut it in half and save the other half for 3-4 months later?

I've liked Everest tips real well. Still in the try them out stage with Kamui Black SS, but they seem awfully good. I prefer my Everest to start pretty tall - I only have about 15-20% taken off at install w/ shaping.
The Moori's were actually harder as you went down the layers, so you could kinda pick your starting point. Don't know if the Kamui Blacks are the same way.

it's because they're delaminating

That is what I was about to say. I believe it is caused by improper installation. When installing a layered tip care must be used and a sharp blade and something needs to keep the layers from being feathered apart and the heat must be kept down. Many a layered tip has been ruined before it ever contacted a ball.

i respectfully disagree. i believe its the tip smooshing when hit. once its played hardens up and reshaped it will stop. atleast from my experiences.

unless the sightly come apart then re adhere after they get played. could be

i tend to hear it woth mooris alot so maybe the leather used. i do mooris under pressure as all tips so mine dont come apart but i still hear the click
