Cloth color

I understand the side of wanting something good for the eye's, but I'm also trying to bring back a 1964 Grand Prix, and wanted to retain that original look. In other words you don't take a numbers matching 1967 Corvette, and change the colors, and motor to fit what is in today.

This is my first table, and I have not played pool in over 20 years. At that time I think you pretty much just went with what you had very few options. Like many other things in life time brings way too many options, and it just gets confusing.

Does anyone know what color cloth AMF had back in the 60's? The aprons, and base are covered with vinyl so I can go with any color under the sun. I just want it to look good, and would like to go with a scheme they had at that time. I've only seen three colors so far Green, Blue, and Brown. Pretty sure they had others (anyone know?) I know the AMF clone to the GC had many color schemes as did the GC.

My main goal is to transform my basement back to things you would see from the late 50s - 70s with a touch of today's technology. Or should I say if you walked into a pool room/ Bar of those eras.

Saying that I want a functional table that also goes well with the entire scheme. In saying that is my only option a traditional green cloth? This space is going to be used for friends, and family.

So in peoples minds does the new color cloths take away from the vintage table? I noticed a powder blue is a cross between blue/ gray or that is what it looks like from pictures I have seen.

Tournament Blue

What colors to avoid, and what colors are good. Also do you do the bed the same color as the rails? If different do you do the bed the darker color, and the rails a lighter color?

I have four or five colors in mind Green, Gold, Blue, Purple, Orange.

Tournament Blue always gets my vote.

I think you should bail on the oem attachment.
The car analogy ...is the replacement of drum brakes and the addition of radial tires not desireAble?

And anyway, you really gotta go with a modern cloth, for playability's sake, so there goes a big part of originality, down the proverbial ball return.

Go with light blue or green....do not make us come over there:haha:

Why I oughta!!!

Point taken. I think I can incorporate a different scheme on the table colors that will let the new cloths or better for the eyes cloth work. I just didn't want blue, blue, and more blue. While most people have to stain for color I just have to get the right color combo of vinyl.
