I had my table recovered in the spring, thought it was done ok but now
I'm getting some tearing of the cloth on the inside edges of a couple of the pockets. Any suggestions on a fix?

Thanks

Bob

Can you tell if the ball is bouncing off pocket liner and into the slate causing a tear?
How about a picture'

Thats not what I was expecting to see. It looks like it came unglued because it was pulled to tight for the glue to hold it or the glue wasn't set up yet so the tight cloth pulled it away from the slate. There should be a few tabs glued and pulled under the slate to hold it, yours looks as if it was cut even with the pocket edge. That may work but the glue needs to be right for it to hold.

Yes, This is how I would do it.

1. Pry the pocket liner loose and pull it down and out thru the bottom, then get under the table and pull the cloth loose from under the slate in the pocket area and the edge of the slate in the pocket but not the top edge of the slate.

2. Get some 2 in masking or blue painters tape and tape over the entire pocket area from the top, under the rail and on the playing surface(so no overspray gets on the cloth ),

3. Then get back under the table and push the loose cloth up against the tape (so the top side of the cloth sticks to the tape), then spray glue the underside of the cloth and the edge of the slate,go back up top and remove the tape, wait 3 or 4 minutes and press the cloth to the edge from the top . Repeat if needed.

It does look like the ball could be causing the tear'
The 10 inch side pockets prob don't help, balls flying in at all angles and bouncing around as they get fired in..

Can we get a picture with the drop pocket removed, a picture from bottom view'

here's the pic, think it obvious what has happened. Do you think it can be fixed from below or should I contact the vendor. Thanks for all the help.

What do you think happined? Looks to me that the ball had caused it, did this happen with the old cloth?-
The pocket could be filled up with balls making the ball smack the slate when pocketed...
There is a few things that "could" be happing....
We need to figure out how its happined...
_I do think the balls has caused it some how'

Maybe the ball did do it, it does look like you are missing the tab in the center to me. You should call them to fix it if they will before you try it.

I went ahead and glued the loose cloth down, I'll watch for a re-occurance of the problem.
I didn't have this problem with the old cloth. I really don't want to make a mountain out of a molehill, this table is almost entirely used for practise and as long as it's playable it's fine with me.

Thanks again for all the input.
