Cloth with Teflon Additive

Have Many of you installed much of this cloth? If so, have you had problems with it loosening up at all? Have you had any other issues with it?

Have any of you tried misting the cloth before you installing it as brunswick recommends with thier cloth?
 
I use it twice a week and I had a few problems at first. It's very different than Simonis to work with, it has alot of stretch to it(alot!). My best advice would be to pull it as tight as you can, do everything the same as you do now just pull it alot tighter. Do your middle pockets first and if you get a small wrinke you can pull it out when you do the corner pockets on that same side.

I hated using that stuff at first, but now it's one of my favorites to work with.:cool:

mechanic gave you good advice, the only thing I dont recommend is misting it with water (if your stretching Brunswick Centennial), theres TEFLON in it. there for the cloth will not take to the water. If you were stretching Tour Edition (no teflon), I would recommend the latter for the maximum stretch. I did A stretch tests with simonis and Tour and you should get approx 5-6 inches of stretch from Tour and 3-4 with Simonis. Being in a small city, I just don't get as much experience with it. I only had a problem on my first couple of tables, now I stretch the sh#t out of it with good results.

Only reason In asked about the water is because the main guy at brunswick told us to do so. My other mechanic does it and has not since had any problems with that felt loosening up in humid conditions or anything like that

We have a couple of new gold crown IV's where I play and when they were first installed they had the centennial cloth installed it played nice but after about 4 months I noticed that the cloth started to track if you slow rolled a ball it would roll off, I know that most would atribute this to unlevelness but I checked it every way that I know how and it only done it in a couple of spots and only from one direction do to the fact that both spots were near corner pockets.
 
I have also noticed the "tracking" on Centennial cloth. I had a guy move from AZ to Ohio and reinstalled his table and Centennial cloth. I had the table dead nuts and the ball would still wobble side to side on certain shots in certain directions. I was begining to second guess myself?

I showed him my Starrett on each individual piece. My level was wrong :) Because "Brunswick has used this for centuries" :) I told him I have been in the business a long time and to trust me it hadnt been used for centuries but only over the last few years. This stuff just isnt time tested yet. I mean, come on... You wouldnt go to your docter for a cold and he tells you its the flu and try to dispute him...
 
experiment first !!!!!...I had trouble with Championship Teflon Ultra loosening up on a daily basis,,,Started using a steam iron when installing on bar tables,,,you can get the stuff so tight that way that the pocket cuts will rip out, so beware.

trial and error can be an expensive teacher,,,LOL.....other than that, I liked the way the Teflon repelled spills.........jmho
 
Cloth with Teflon

I have installed alot of this cloth and have not had a problem. I do not wet any cloth that I install. I think that the Champioship Valley Ultra is great for bar tables. I know that the Brunswick cloth is just Championship Tour Edition cloth with teflon added to it. Champioship Tour Edition reminds me two ply canvas. You must remeber that the lighter oz. cloth is the more you will be able to stretch it. The worst cloth I have worked with was the IPT slow nap tournament cloth. You could stretch it till you could see through it. You have to be carefull that you do not stretch it to much.
