Hey there... I've been making cues for... well not very long. I've made 3-4 total and they've come out okay.. especially for not really knowing what I'm doing! Anyways, I've decided I like doing it and want to invest some more time into it. I have a CNC that I'm learning how to use. Thus far I've been modeling with Fusion 360 and I can do pretty basic stuff. I guess my question is... do any cuemakers here use a traditional generic CNC with a 4th axis for cuemaking? Or does it pretty much require a CNC setup specifically to do cues? I'm looking to at least CNC the inlays, but preferably points as well.
I've been able to setup the CNC and jog it around manually and cut some forearm points, but have had some trouble figuring out how to generate the proper G-code to rotate the cue and cut the points and such completely automated. I guess I'm looking for any kind of CNC input anyone has really... best program to use -- best Gcode compiler -- if I need to get a CNC specifically for cuemaking, which do you suggest (Unique?) -- as well as anything else you'd like to add that could help.
Thanks a lot.
