CNC Software

I am new to this forum and I was reading the various posts prior to signing up.
One of the post I read had some information on some CNC software that was customized for the cue builder. I thought I had bookmarked the page but seems I did not.

Anyway I am upgrading to a CNC shaft machine and was wondering:
1] Does anyone know of the software package that I came across?
2] What software would most of you recommend?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You are looking for CueCut from MVP cues for tapering. http://mvpcues.com/cuecut.php
I write my tapering G-codes manually and if the machine you are buying already has some programs, you can probably reverse engineer them to customize your taper. If not, Kelly's program is a powerful shortcut.

The Fusion 360 is a very powerful cad cam system that uses the HSMworks for the cam side. Quite involved in initially getting it set up for the cutter libraries to suite your machine. Although it does have quite an extensive cutter library with it. It is cloud based so need access to the net for drawing and generating the code. I like it alot for the model plane parts. For cue work I will be getting the software off Kelly when I get my spinner made for the cnc router.

The OP said he was upgrading to a CNC shaft machine. No need for anything more than reverse engineering a stock taper program or using Kelly's CueCut. Reverse engineering takes more time but less money; CueCut costs more but takes less time.

If the OP said he was looking to do inlays then my answer certainly would have been different.

Actually i do believe I would be using it it to do inlays as well. I assumed that the one program was all inclusive.

As I said i this is my first experience with cnc.

So If Cuecut will not cut inlays, just tapers, what will?
