Well this sort of evolved pretty quickly. I went from intentions of mounting a spinner/indexer to my 4x4 cnc machine to thinking that it would be simple and rigid enough to to just build an x and y axis using some of these extruded parts to just carry a laminate trimmer the length of the lathe. This will free up my big machine and this one can just be a dedicated taper / ring billet slot cutter hopefully. I will still have to build another indexer type setup for my big cnc to do inlays. I have never built a cue but have wanted to for 20 years and have plenty of woodworking under my belt, plus a shop that could probably function as a full blown cabinet / furniture shop but would rather it just be a hobby. There are plenty of easier ways to make a living and nothing kills a hobby quicker than turning it into a job. Hopefully I will have it up and running over the next week - Just in time for Kelly's taper software. I will post more as it progresses.

8020 is the nutz. You perfect that design and you can sell those. It's a nice unit.

Thanks guys - I really had no intentions of making them to sell, sort of like the wood shop in the back- there are easier ways to make money. I do love to wheel and dealt hough I also love to tinker and build machines. I usually build one then think of a better way and sell the old one off.

In that case, I want the new one.

Sorry Lee just noticed your post. I am around 1500 in but I had some stuff already for it like pc - mach 3 - router and I got a good deal on a gecko g540. I has to do some tweaking due to some instability in a few spots but I am back on track and hope to fire this baby up soon. I will post some more pics when done.
