CNC'd points question

I love my new to me Schon. It fits nicely between my R6 and my Runde, except for the points. Are CNC'd points inlays? Are CNC'd cues plain janes with inlays? Or does it depend on the maker, like Gina's or JW's?

CnC is just another way of cutting points and inlays. It is up to the CM to use this tool just like he was using a pantograph or a razor.
You need to either visit a CMs shop or read a book so you can learn about tools and techniques.

CNC is a protocol, not a construction technique. Floating points are inlays, and they can be cut with a manual machine, or CNC. Spliced points can be cut with a router, a milling machine, etc. Either of those machines can be controlled using hand wheels, or be CNC.

Too many jokes coming to mind, must resist.....

I assume they are rounded at the tips and align perfectly with each other. "points" like this are big flat-bottom inlays, not traditional v-groove cut points. I believe that is what you're driving at.

Most likely they are shallow flat bottom inlays. But show us a picture and we can tell you which method they are laid in with.
