you brang it back up by posting. it was already a dead issue as i had already edited it. you should have just let it go.
you should edit your post also ! i cannot help what others have added. they have to edit it themselves, if they would ! (lyn and gary)
this edit is to let it die. i hope you feel the same. but if you make another post it will bump it to the top
and then you are asking for more of my opinions. and opinions are what a forum is all about if you don't know
i am entitled to those ! so let it go and let it die. peace out !
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i tried to let it go, but this is what it was all about to begin with. Not things that are false as you say directed towards me.
I reported the facts and if you feel guilty about it well then so be it ! I was interested as I did have a small monitary interest even though i did not attend. here is the totalpool.info post put there by yourself Mr. Renshaw with the payouts. I just think it is a joke that a 600 added event only pays 450 to win !

CNY 9-Ball Stop #2 Hippos "House of Billiards" [12/3/2009]

purse/callcutta arrangment is deceiving in this review. but yet i think total payout reflects the total of both. another joke indeed.
you and your verizon type numbers are very funny. not haha funny imho.

Gary,

The payouts are low for the number of entries. However, you know there is a separate prize list for both the "A" and "B" players in the event. That prize list comes directly out of the gross entry fees paid by ALL players. Some money is retained for the year end Tour Championship. Some money goes to the director's. Some is returned to the host room as green fees. Having been so successful over the last six events, I can not complain. I'm now paying $105 entry fee per event as you did. My attendance has as much to do with needing something to do to break the boredom of retirement as expecting to win (or cash) every event.

Can the CNY do better? There is always room for improvement. I feel Mike (and Julius to some extent) deserve the opportunity to run the events as they see fit. Drawing that number of entrants to each event speaks volumes about how other, perhaps not as talented (or lucky or both), players see the Tour. I've heard the same from Mike. Play or don't. I've chosen to play. You have the same choice to make and I respect you, your ability and your choice absolutely! We could play in the Joss. My chances of success at a Joss event are somewhat less than yours. I've chosen to take the easier road. Not proud of it, but the truth!

The Entry Fees are posted on here: http://cny9ball.com/rules.html

AA+#'s - $105.00
AA - $85.00
A - $65.00
B+ and below - $40.00

A total of $20.00 from each entry fee will be distributed as follows: $15.00 for table time, $2.00 for “Year-End Tournament” and $3.00 for tournament operation expenses

Lyn,

Just as a clarification for you and anyone else interested... The "Bonus Pots" for the A and B players only comes from their entry fees. The AA and above players do not contribute to these "Bonus Pots". The majority of the B+ and Under players entry fees are kept for them w/ only $10.00 going into the main prize fund. How does this benefit everyone? Without the B+ and Under players the main prize fund would have been down $320.00 at our last event. We had 50 players and 32 of them were B+ and Under. Leaving 18 players of which I believe 13 were A rated, 3 were AA rated and 2 rated AA1. Without the B+ and Under players we would have had 18 players all drawing tough matches right from the start. For the sake of diccussion let's say I only lose 3 (My feelings are it would be much more.) of the 18 because now my A players say "Too tough for me!" That leaves me with 15 players instead of 50. Not good business in my opinion.

For those who have not heard through the grape vine... I am saying I because Mike has decided it is time to step down from the CNY 9 Ball Tour. In his graciousness he has allowed me to step in and continue on w/ the tour. December 5 and 6 @ Salt City Billiards will be my first solo event. Mike will be around should I have questions or need assistance. I have been helping him right along so I see no complications in the near future. The plans for this season are set and will go on as is.

Thank you all for your time...

Hey Gary L,

Good to hear from you. Must wonder why you directed your comments to me rather than Oldzilla. Regardless, thanks for picking up the tour. It appears you are taking quite a bit on. No more 8 ball events at Salt City?

Thanks for clarifying the entry dollar question. You know I always supported Mike and Julius. Always felt they did not take enough money to cover their expenses of running the tour. Glad it will go on though.

Lets see if we can get enough interest to have an event here in Rochester during the 2010 - 2011 season.

Please PM me with your address. Sometimes I like to enter events early and sent Mike a check.

Talk to you soon. I'll be at Salt City next month for sure.

Lyn

Lyn,

Only replied to you because you had mentioned the bonus pots. Only part of Oldzilla's post showed up last nght for some reason or I probably would have responded to Gary instead. It's all good no harm meant... I thank you for your past and future support it is greatly appreciated.

The 8 ball events needed to be revamped. They didn't take off as I thought they would. Expansion to your neck of the woods next season may be a possibility. See what kind of a response you get from the local players out there.

See you at Salt City...

CNY 9-Ball Tour

Mr. Empey, it's to bad you did not come to me for info on the payouts of the CNY 9-Ball Tour, I would have showed you that just the "A's" put into the "A" bonus and just thr "B+'s" put into the "B+'s" bonus. so please do some research before putting out info the is not true becuse your upset, I have always given you answers to any and all questions, just because you did not like what you heard you have posted info that was not true. I know that you don't agree with what happens at all the tournaments that are run in and around Syracuse. But I don't see to many running up to take over, so the ones that do try to do something for the sport should get the players support. I'd be more than happy to show you all my records on when the CNY Tour started and all the changes that were made to help the tour and sport. Mike Renshaw, www.CNY9Ball.com

I feel letting the weaker players in is also a good move. For two reasons. First obvious like you said good for business. Second it let's the weaker player experience the rigors of stiffer competion. It's a learning experience if nothing else.

I like playing better players it helps me see where my weaknesses are alot more clearly than when playing someone my level or weaker.

Granted it's a little ruff on the better players as well but if your as good as you think you are then playing a weaker player should just be warm up.

Grant everyone gets lucky but luck should only be a small factor and skill should dominate

my team captain has the best line I ever heard though. "even a blind squirrel can find a nut once in a while."

Gary, not sure what you are talking about when you say one post in two years. I don't think that has anything to do with what you started when you were talking about payouts of the CNY but that's ok you know what your talking about, I think. And as long as you have removed the first posting I can live with that. Mike

It's, I'm sorry Gary your not worth it. Mike

My thoughts entirely about all of syracuse and the gigantic pool rut it really is. It is a joke. I have played all over the country and this place is the pits. Equipment sucks at best anywhere in the city. Besides not getting many games here it is not worth MY time to go to the rooms and hit balls.I don't need to. Been there done that. I haven't played much at all lately but could still run circles around most here. My so called handicap is very high here because most of the players are bad. Whenever I was increased to another level I always told them they have to play better because I am not that good. As a group they can't match up with many area's pound for pound.

So your statement here doesn't mean very much at all !
An oxymoron for sure.

It must have touched a nerve for you to take the time to write all of what you did. Now let’s tell the truth the reason you can't get a game is because you cheat and you won't give a fair game so hop back into your car and deliver some more pizza , and remember your the loser not us.

On the contrary ! It's what we do here on the forum. Give out our views on topics and if you want to keep it going that's fine with me. A fair game is a matter of opinion and as i said i am overated because i beat alot of railbeaters. So the rest want to jump on what they seem to think is a fair game when THEY just want to steal, not me. I just refuse to take part in such a mockery that you call pool in this area. I really do not need it and have nothing to prove to anyone here. No wonder Babe used to come in when no one was around and leave when they got there.

And you conclude with yet another oxymoron ! Have a nice day.

2889_75670451831_516591831_1596970_485961_n.jpg
all i am eligable for is first place so why should i get in these events ?
I always look for first place money, sorry i am a winning type player.
Not as you say loser. I play to get first place and if thats all i can get then your tour is just not for me. understood? Sorry I am worth more than that. I do not want to commit to 2 full days of playing for a couple hundred profit. And no i do not want to start my own tour. And if i did do you think it would be in such a place as this.
Mike you take from the good and give to the bad so you must feel like
freakin Robbing Hood or something.
