Coaching APA team

Two thumbs up to that.

I’m on a double jeopardy league on an 8 person team and since most players show up consistently I give them the option to take weeks off. If I don’t plan on playing someone one week on either I let them know in advance. Even though there are 10 matches a week in Dj league doesn’t guarantee everyone will get to play. Normally with all 8 everyone will play but sometimes that gets trumped by the 23 rule or if we really need a win that week. Or we are getting killed and need to play somebody who has been playing better than others to get some points for us.

I’d rather have 5 people show up and play twice than all 8 and try to figure out who isn’t going to play what. And in a big tournament or playoffs I always let people know in advance who is playing. If they aren’t playing they know and have the option to stay home or come root us on for the match they aren’t playing in.

It's apa. Most teams don't have someone qualified to do much coaching.

When I was in the apa, I was by far the best player in my team. I was asked by a girl for coaching one time. She was basically screwed and looking for advice. I asked her what she thought her best option was, pointed out a couple of more, explained the pitfalls, then told her to have fun.

She told me that the 'have fun' was the best advice I could have given her.

Let's face it, apa has a ton of asshats, you won't make money playing, what else is there besides having fun?
Nothing used to anger me more than watching a SL2/3 that thought they knew everything put themselves in jail, then call time out. Now you have to explain that even SVB has a less than 50% chance on the shot. I would just say aim for here (where ever) and walk away. I gave up dealing with that BS.
One of the reasons I quit. That and B/S foul calls.
