IF anyone has any pics of such a cue I would appreciate taking a look at them.

Initially I was thinking about using maple points with ebony recut into them, but after seeing some pics of some amboyna burl cues I really like the look of that wood.

Thanks,

Look up Miranda cues

Hey,

I had a Miranda cue that was like that combo.....nice looing cue! I think if you check AZ or completed auctions on Ebay you might find a nice example of that combo ;)

Scottster you are talking about using (2) Woods Close in Color. Think you would not get a Lot of Ban for your Buck, as it would be like Brown Next to Brown with little Contrast. Unless you do some VERY Colorfil Recutts.

Here is a photo of a Cue I wanted but some one else bought with Burl & Ebony, I thought the two woods looked GREAT TOGETHER...

Cuemakers use woods with little contrast all the time. It's all in the pieces the use and how they frame it.

I like Light to Dark Contrast, with the exception of Ebony, on Ebony with Veeneers of White, Bule, Red & White like someone has.

Problem is with RECUTS, unlike Veeneers, you can not get Every Color of the RAINBOW I M O....

THanks for the replies.

What I have envisioned is a cocobolo forearm with 6 points of ebony points (3 high 3 low), with Amboyna burl recut into the ebony points, with ivory spears in the high points, a black phenolic joint, with a brass 3/8-10 pin, and simple silver rings at A & E, with reverse points in the butt.
One concern I have is the weight of the cue, I want it between 18.5 to 19 oz.
