cognoscenti taper

Does anyone know taper of cognoscenti cues are?

Straight taper or Compound?

Describing a taper is almost impossible short of listing the diameter at every inch of the shaft.

Generally speaking there is a conical taper which resembles a cone and is a straight taper seen in billiard and snooker cues.

The pro taper which each and every one is different but most come back about 10 to 12 inches and then increase in size to the joint. Then is the parabolic taper which is many different tapers from the tip to the joint.

After all this I do not know the answer to this question. Maybe someone with more knowledge of his cues can help.

When I ordered my Cognoscenti from Joe Gold back in October he made the butt end a little skinner and took off a .010 inches along the whole butt. Joe explained to me that he uses a straight conical taper that graduates evenly along the 28.75 inches of the butt. On mine it goes from .840 at the to joint collar to exactly 1.26 inches at the butt end. He does not use a compound or blended taper on his butts from what I gathered.
