Coker Cues...What do ya think???

They came with Moori Mediums originally. Not my choice, and im too scared/lazy to have them changed. The cue workers around here love to scratch up the ferrules when changing tips, and im too lazy to mail it to predator to have it done (only a hour and a half away).
Which tips would you have put on??? What do you prefer???

Im using a moori med. right nowi dont necessarily like it, but it gets the job done. Id also like to try a talisman pro medium or hard, heard very good things about them!
Also, you might want to check out "sumo" tips, also "Kamui" tips. Ive heard lots of good things about them but never tried them.
Just some suggestions

the only other tip ive used is a sniper, i liked it, it had tons of action. But i would like to try some of the tips i mentioned above -^

Thank you Hotdogg. I can see what you mean about the balance point. I have a 18.9 oz Espiritu. It is really well balanced. People often pick it up and when I tell the wieght, they say it feels light. So I can see how a heavy cue could feel lighter.

I really like the forward balance of this cue. There is a Moori on one shaft and a Triangle on the other. I like shooting with both. I do however get more draw with the Moori shaft. I am not sure if that is the tip or cause it is quite thinner than the other... Not sure if I put the picture in correctly so if it isn't here, ooops..

I am currently using the Talisman Pro Medium on one of my cues, Talisman Pro Hard on another, and Talisman WB Hard on another. The Talisman Pros are the ones that are made of pigskin I believe. Those are the ones Coker carries, I'm not sure if Tom has Talisman WBs or not. I would recommend trying the Talisman Pro Medium. Though the for how HARD the WBs they are still able to hold chalk and play really well (better than any of the Mooris IMO), but I think they are better suited for a break cue unless you like VERY HARD hitting tips.
Oh yeah, I recently have tried Tiger Sniper tip too. It hit good, gripped the cue ball real well, but was significantly softer than Talismans. Plus another thing about them is that they are one of more expensive tips ( and Coker doesn't carry them). I recommend the other Tiger tips as well as I have tried the Tiger Soft, Med, and Hard.
Got my Coker Friday night but couldn't try it until today...Went over and played 2 hours, using both shafts and I LOVE IT...Hits a ton...I love the hit...I love the Cocobolo wood and the rings and craftsmanship of the cue. I really feel I got lucky...Will have to take pictures sometime and post them...Love the hit.......

The inlays in Guy's cues are actually two passes with the CNC. Michi currently performs all CNC work. For inlays such as the stars, Michi takes one pass with a larger radius bit, then a second pass with a smaller radius bit to sharpen up the points of the inlays. The extra step is time-consuming and it occasionally tears up some expensive bits, but Michi's extra attention always pays off by the resulting cue. Take a close look at the radius of these CNC floating points. This was one of Michi's designs:

Notice how sharp the point is on the star, that is amazing. The window is most likely CNC, with the star being sharpened up by coker, looks amazing IMO.

I recently bought a new basic cocobolo Coker and after I had it a couple of weeks I noticed a couple of fairly minor blemishes in the forearm. They weren't noticeable unless you really looked close under a bright flourescent light. I called Michi and she wanted me to be completely happy with the cue and asked me to send it to them to look at. Tom ended up completely refinishing the cue, and I received it in yesterday's mail and it looks GREAT. Tom also turned down my shafts a bit for me, at no charge. Michi diligently kept in e-mail communication with me during the refinish process.
Bottom line is, they stood by their cue and truly wanted me to be a satisfied Coker owner....and I am very satisfied.

Yes, this is very common when dealing with coker.
My friends coker's wrap came undone in just about 2 weeks of having it. He sent it in, and they rewrapped it for free. I know this isnt a surprise, but what was a surprise, my friend had knocked a big chunk out of the butt, and Tom refinished it for him for no charge. I thought that was a very nice thing to do. Not to mention the quick time to have the work done and the cue back in perfect condition!

it's a good, dependable cue for the money. it is not a collectable. there are a few things you can do to ANY cue to make it more comfortable for you to play with. 1...change the ferrule. 2...change the tip. 3...you also have some say in how the shaft is built, but i assume this is not a real concern for you right now.

One of the shafts for my Coker was a bit shorter and the joint did not line up perfect....I went to Coker to have a leather wrap put on and showed him the shaft, he said, "that is un acceptable"...I will make you a new shaft free of charge".....He said the dealer I bought it from must of mixed them up because he checks them first..So I am now waiting for my new free shaft....The other one was "PERFECT"......But he insisted I get another perfect one.....Real easy to deal with....Will go all out to make things right and perfect.....Even though I bought it from a dealer.....
