Cold Crown rails replaced

I wish to replace my Gold Crown Rails. They are not bad but am looking for some that are more lively. Should I insist on new Brunswick rails or are there other brands that you have found of better quality. I want the best that money can buy. I like a lot of bounce.
Any thoughts?

Where is the table Rubber likes to be in a warm environment so rubber can bounce if to cold it hardens up until warm then beacomes lively.

How old is the gold crown rubber may not be at right height if originaly equipt with Monarch rubber. Rail bolts not tight, and what type of cloth is being used?

Maybe try vacumming the table a few times to pick up extra powder or chalk under the cloth.

Thanks for the input.
I'm guessing the table is 20+ years old. Can't be sure.
The table is in a comfortable envioronment (not Cool) and the rail height seems to be corrrect when measured against other good tables that I play on (approximately 1.5") or 1.460 on a digiital caliper.
There is no hop on the ball nor does it sound like the rails are not snugged up properly.
Hitting the ball from the head spot through the foot spot with a firm stroke I can only get 3.5 rails. Hitting it it through the corner rails I can just about get 7 rails. No more then that. I have been told that 9 rails would be right. My cloth is Simonis 860 and the cloth is only 2 years old and gets little to moderate use.
I know that playing on a newer 9' Brunswick, the ball relly moves well.
I am thinking that I will repalce the rails but now the question is where should I look for them.
I am in the boston area.

I think some they were going by the typo in the title of "Cold" instead of "Gold" and were assuming you were talking about the table being in a cold area, instead of just a typo :)

I am in the same boat you are. Just bought a GC III & didnt get to really inspect the rails much but they seemed a little more dead than I would like. I am going with new simonis cloth so I decided to order new rail cushions also. Went with the k55 profile & facings from Diamond Billiards. Call them direct for the best price around. I will let you know how they perform when the table is done.

Yeah, I meant Gold not Cold. May be my fingers are cold or my eyes are bad.

Weegee'. I would suggest you get a hold of jay at A-1 billiards, I think he is in your area ..if you want the best money can buy I suggest you have your rails calibrated by jay or glen "real king cobra" it would be like having mr shelby blue print a GT500 motor....
They have the capability to rebuild your rails with special tooling in a way that was not available before..

The modification they do to your rails will make em play better than a new set of rails from the factory today will ever play'
-there is a few other guys with the tooling but I don't think they are in your area...maybe pat or bobby can help you..
