Here is a beautiful cue from a Southern California cue maker that I just became aware of. His name is Carlos Coll,
and he's been making cues for close to 10 years. Even though I tried to capture the tiny details in my pics,
I think I failed. So, here a description: 4 point, 4 veneer, with scalloped ivory diamonds in the points and butt.
Between the diamonds in the butt are silver dots. Each ivory diamond has a silver dot inlayed and centered perfectly.
The ring above the wrap is ivory as well, and the wrap is a very nicely done elephant ear. All of the ring work on the
butt and shafts at the joint is silver as well. I'll be getting more pictures of his work in the near future to post.

This cue is mine =)

If you have any question about this particular cue, just let me know.

Chris

PS I added newer pictures with much better lighting in the first 3 pictures.

More cues

Here are some pics to give you an example of his other work. The
4th picture is of cues that are "almost" done.

The work looks very clean. Would love to see more pictures with a few close ups of the inlay and ringwork

I'll try and get some decent light and take some more. As the only one I have is the first, that's the only one I can get better pictures of. I'm trying to get Carlos to send me better pictures of his other cues as well.

Close ups

Here are some very close up views of the ring and the diamond with silver dot
inlays. The first is the ring ( a bit blurry at the bottom half), the second is of
the diamond in the point, and the third is of a diamond in the butt. I hope that
these help show the workmanship in these cues. In the second, you can see my
camera being reflected back on the surface of the cue.

i seen and played with lots of his cues, they are spot on, the pics are good but like most cue pics dont tell the whole story. Carlos is a great guy as well, he has some MONSTERS in the pipe line, however his players are very cool, he uses traditional colors and touches of modern cue making. too bad he cant play a lick:p:p OUCH sorry man.....

Wait, if he can't play a lick, and he beat me, what does that say about my playing skills? :frown::sorry::confused: Damn, I always thought I am good.

You must have seen the biggest monster he's making for me. Please tell him to send me pictures. I've been waiting for several years.

Hurry up Carlos. If you read this, stop playing golf with Mr. Freeman and finish my cue.

No, the pictures definitely don't do the cues justice. But, Carlos should be sending me the original full sized pictures of the other cues I posted, and when I get them I'll be adding close ups from the inlays and ring work on those as well. Everything on my cue is extremely precise and clean.
