Collectibles

I second that for sure....randyg

Thank you, Someone mentioned an auction...what about e-bay? Would that be a place for more eyes to see?
Here is the deal, the cue and case with my name on it is 1 of a kind so the value is in the eye of the beholder.
The US Open George Case is also 1 of a kind...being that I was the only one that won in 1992 and the cue is the one I used in 1990 to win the World Championship with.

Could you imagine if this was golf or tennis????

Not sure how to proceed if anyone has any ideas I would love to hear from you.

Just curious:

I've been approached by someone who is interested in buying some of my personal cues and cases. This is what I have and btw I just got them back from other friends and family who have been keeping them. They would have never survived had I had them myself all these years...I'm not in any way shape or form a pac rat.

2 Cues I won the World Championships in 90-91 (made by Helmstetter) 1 has my name and date on it...the other is just the cue I used nothing on it.
My first case on the Pro Tour (Jay Flowers made it special for me, just got it back its so beat up...but it is VERY cool)
I have the case I got after winning the US Open, it says "Women's 1992 US Open winner or something like that"

Just curious if someone does collectibles I know the price is in the eye of the beholder.
Personally I would love them to go to someone who will take care of them, I do like the idea of someone keeping them after I have come and gone.

Is there a place on E-bay the pool fans go to look for pool cues and cases like this? Retired cues and cases not for the purpose of shooting with more as a collector of a Pool Champ?

I wish I had some helpful info for you. But I'll tell you I wish the very best for one of the most friendly & gracious people I've ever met. (And one of the most fierce competitors that ever drew a bead.)

Not that I'm aware of, Robin. Most of that stuff just gets pretty much lumped together. Autographed things would probably go in with Autographs but cues and cases go in the Billiards section, I think.

Here is a picture of Robin's classic George case. Looks to be in great shape. Note the hand engraving on the top. This piece is highly collectable and obviously one of a kind.

When Louie Roberts' George case and Meucci cue were sold, bids went over $3000 as I recall. Robin was even more dominant on the women's side of pool. I'll post the cue she won the national championship with next.

Thank you :) I did have a fun career

Richard Helmstetter's finest! Robin used this cue to beat the world's best. It is signed by Helmstetter. Some pros use many cues over their careers. Robin played many years with this one, and refused free cues, including one from a from Hall of Fame builder, because this Helmstetter cue played so well for her. She passed on the sponsor cues out of loyalty to the Helmstetter she bought. That says a lot about the player and the cue IMO.

Richard Black offered to make me a cue...it was very nice...but at the point in my career what I really needed was a sponsor when I told him the cue I was playing with and LOVED he said Dick was a very good friend of his and he called Dick on my behalf...thus the second cue Dick made me he put my name on and sponsored me for many years. Without Richard making that call and Dick Helmstetter this thread would not be going on...players need help and Dick did above and beyond for me.

I bet Drake (my son) will have a few guitars too one day...I will tell him to hang onto them too. He is in the studio recording I love finding things like this.
