Collecting: To refinish or not?

Picked up a old Scruggs sneaky recently for the small entry level cue collection I have started. Wondering if I should leave it as is (finish is worn off and butt is dinged up) with the original shaft which is probably about 11mm or get it refinished by Bob Frey and have another 13mm shaft built. If I don't get it refinished by Bob and have him build a shaft I will be putting the money towards another cue, probablyy a New Frey Sneaky. Is the Scruggs better off being left as is for collecting purposes or will having it refinished by Bob help the desirability. What would you do? Keep in mind this is not and will not be my daily player. THx

A refinish and shaft will be $$$$. I would add 300-500 to the buying price and see what is out there in that price range now. Let that make the decision for you.

Personally, TS sneakies are players cues. While one may covet, or enjoy them in their collection, there are not true collectibles.
