I read in the Blue Book that one of a kind cues by certain makers could command many times the price that's listed in the book. My questions was what senario of cue or maker could command many times and by how many times could/would/can they command in this day in age? How many times the price is a fair assessment of it's relative value to a collector. I realize there are collectors who collect to sell and others that collect to collect and keep.This question would probably be better directed at collectors w/experience in this, but also wondering what all other people would think. Also, does anyone know who taught George Balabushka? Who'd he work with?

The blue book is a good reference book to see what model cue you have but the prices seem out of whack,they might list a cue as being worth $1000 but then in the real world you would be lucky to get half that.I would cut the prices in half that they list except for some of the higher end established cuemakers. 
Searing,Southwest,Mottey,Scruggs,Tascarella, Ginacue,Szams,Balabushka to start off with,Im sure their are many others too.I would say atleast 25 cuemakers who are on that list whose cues hold the value and more listed in the book.
