thought I'd mention it in case anyone wants an excuse to sit inside on this beautiful day. I feel guilty unless I have a good excuse.

"On the snap, Vincent!"

Yeah, I like that movie! Have you seen "The Hustler" ? I wouldn't say that "Color of money" is the sequel from "The Hustler" but, there's obviously links between these movies. Actually, Paul Newman's character is the same. We can see him, as Fast Eddie, older and kinda retired from pool. I loved "The huslter" too! And i guess you've also seen "Poolhall Junkies" too?! The famous line "did I studder or something? About a minute or so it was noisy as a poolhall, and now it's as quiet as a church!" they say that line 3 times in the movie. Something interressting. Watch "The Hustler" after the begining credits, Eddie and his pal go in the pool room. One says "it's quiet" then the other says : "yeah, like a church!" And in poolhall junkies, one time, they walk into the pool room corridor (when Johny is about to play the new pro - at the beggining of the movie-) we can see the picture of Minessota Fats (my avatar) from "The Hustler" and we can also see the poster of the movie "Color of Money".

When they made the movie TCOM they used a little artistic license. The book was a true sequel to the story. The movie only took the premise of Fast Eddie making a comeback against a cocky young player from the book.
If you can find the book, I think you will enjoy the story.

Just finished the book last week and WOW what a great read. I can only watch TCOM when i wanna watch a pool flick. I just got The Hustler book and will start soon.

If only movies followed the book to the T!!!!!!

Kevin Turdeau keeps calling TCOM movie the Mike Sigel story, since it differes from the book.

He stated that the movie is about an unknown left hander who can beat alomst anyone and goes on the road with an older fellow who teaches him the ropes. Similar to how left handed Sigel went on the road with Larry hubbard.

These are Trudeau's words, not mine.

TCOM is my favorite pool movie regardless of who Kevin says it is based on. :D

Even after seeing "The Hustler"?
Yeah.

Dont get me wrong. Hustler is great too. Just for the right amount of Pool in a movie, I think Color of Money nailed it.

The match between Fats and Felson was a classic though, especially in the one in the beginning, just I wish there was more Pool in the movie then the opening scene, a little bit of 9 ball and 3C and the end scene.

TCOM seemed to be more about the game when Hustler was more about the Characters. Dont get me wrong though, it really helped devope Eddie's character for TCOM. Just my opinion though.
