I have always just broke with whatever I had in my hand, and don't make break cues. I had a chance to get some of the ruland style color plywood. i've decided to make a couple break cues. my question is, what weight are we building break cues these days ?

The problem is it's about impossible to get dymondwood down to that weight with out coring. It is a nightmare to core.

Dymondwood

I have made several cues using Dymondwood. The shafts of Dymondwood weighed around 7 ounces. The cue butt of solid Dymondwood may weigh as much as 18 to 19 ounces by itself. With only the forearm section of Dymondwood and the rest of the butt made of lighter materials you can get the butt down to about 15 ounces.
It is an interesting material to work with and some players like a heavier break cue.

Is the Diamond wood or it's sister laminated birch still available? I'm more interested in the colored birch
