Gentlemen,

Are you positive that this will be happening this soon? I ask in order to clarify...

I have recently seen the same listing but for the following weekend (NOV 6-7).
I went into the location last night (10-21-2010 @ 9pm, the location is less than a mile from my home) and there was absolutely NO poster, flyer or listing of any kind, nor did any of the help have an awareness of the upcoming event.

The tables are Brunswick, the one I picked was level (enough) and the rails were at least "ok" but the table seemed to be an 8' table or some odd close size with tan/gray cloth (that could benefit from a change). The way the tables are laid out, only the center table could be claustrophobic due to lack of immediate seating. Otherwise it's a very player-friendly set up since the space is set apart from the lounge, bowling lanes and kids gaming area.

In their favor, there was not ONE empty parking space in their lot and the bowling area was p-a-c-k-e-d.
Even though Thursday is probably "League Night" they still have to be doing something right to pack the house in this economy ...

Update

I just called and talked to Curtis( GM ) he said there were flyers and as far as he knew there were flyers out.

I appreciate the heads up. I would hate to drive all the way from Oklahoma for nothing.

I asked them if the tables would be recovered by next weekend. He said they had to turn in a work order to corporate for their approval. So we gotta suffer through what they give us.

Seems like I am getting the run around from this place and probably won't have another tournament there after this one

Honestly, I'm not trying to stir the pot. I think it could be a positive thing to play at this location overall.
I was suprised that the staff was unaware and equally suprised that they had a "rules and codes" list on the entrance door but no mention of a large, upcoming tournament.

Regardless, thanks for checking with the GM about the set-up.
