Anyone know of any good tournaments (preferably played on 9' tables) in the Denver/Aurora area?
I gamble like once a year, so I'm looking for something else to get my competitive juices flowing.

Go through there and lists every tournament around. There is also an open/handicapped 9ft tournament on Sundays at Matchups in Fort Collins which is about 60 miles north of Denver $10 entry and $100 added.
Sunday at Felt is probably the best tournament around as far as talent and playing conditions. The best players, and the best tables period. Sundays up in FoCo at Matchups would be my next choice if you don't mind the drive. Strong players too. However handicapped, and I didn't care for the way the tables played. This was quite sometime ago, so I suspect the conditions have changed however.

It's too bad the bar boxes at Felt play like total crap and are not taken care of. The tournaments are ran very poorly as well. Last tournament I played there (and last time I ever play one there) took 4 1/2 hrs to play race to 3/2 8-ball with 16 players. That place has a lot of potential, but like most pool rooms, is run like what can you do for me and not like what can I do for you to make your experience enjoyable.
So basically what you are saying is you got your ass kicked and are upset it took so long to stay there just to lose? I have always had a great experience there and that is the general opinion of most people too. If it was so horrible then why do they keep having tournaments ever week? It isn't the only place to play.
I was there for so long b/c I won the tournament. I'm used to tournaments where the person running it actually pays attention to what is going on, not screwing around with her bf or what ever he is or is somewhere else screwing around.
Unfortunately, its about the only place that even has tournaments. Most places I go to that supposedly has a tournament, don't have one or very few people show up. Montoya's tournaments are by far the best thing going.
