any fellow AZers around that area? i got a job offer to go there for about 3 years. just wondering whats the pool scene like around there. not sure if i will take the job yet, still ironing out some details for benefits etc. got a few weeks to decide.
 
plenty of pool in that area.everything from champs to leagues.
did your bosses tell you how hot that place gets in the summer. 100 degree and 90% humidity and not a cloud in sight.

That's why I call it the armpit of the south. Plenty of places to play. Stix on Airport Blvd is nice and clean. 7 barboxes, one 1954 Brunswick 9', one Diamond shimmed 9', and a 5x10 snooker table. Baileys in Irmo has six 9' tables and seven 8' tables. In house league. Real nice place. There is another place but it's filled with smoke, crooked operators, dirty building all around. Not a good place to play or hang out in my opinion. Hope you make it out here.

memphis gets pretty hot. last summer we had a lot of days with the heat index around 110. im origionaly from fla. thats hot !! lol.

Looking forward to it. The people here are nice, low crime, low cost of living. But it does get HOT! The zoo is great. Lake Murray is a nice place to cool down.

i was in columbia for about 3 weeks around 15 years ago. played some in a bar next to my hotel. left there and went to agusta for about a year . lived right on clarks hill lake. could go out my back door and walk 100 feet to the lake. caught quite a few big catfish outa it.

Gradys place isn't far from there either.
 
Love Columbia. :thumbup: Brain71 is right on. I haven't been to the new place Stix but, I've seen and heard great things on here about that place. Great town with lots to do including pool. If you have young ones, definitely stop by Riverbanks Zoo, it is one of the finest zoos around. If no young ones, lots of great bars.:D Ron
