Commentators at World Cup of Pool

I tuned in to the live stream to listen to Jay Helfert and he is not on. They have two guys on who are (to be kind) amateurish in their commentary. Anybody know who they are and why is Matchroom not using their usual crews?

Ive always disliked Anthony Suntay. He is overly dramatic and whenever he translates anything from Tagalog to English, he always adds stuff up. Sometime he downright makes s*** up!

BTW the usual local commentator Bob Guerrero is not available tonight because of the Philippine National Football game which is on going. Its in halftime right now. Thats why I cant continue updating the WCoP thread.

I do not miss Bob's commentary one bit, especially when he teams up with Chuck Shriner, i'll rather mute my TV then listen to them speak. Anthony is just as bad, Biboy is the better one amongst the 4, with much room for improvement .

Who is the british sounding guy that always speaks random words really loud when he talks. I HATE listening to him. Is he one of the commentators?

I suspect you are referring to Sid Waddell. Sad to report that Sid lost his battle with cancer last month.

Sorry to hear that, he was older than he sounded, 72. It sure was him.

"Apart from darts, Waddell found himself commentating on eight-ball pool, clay-pigeon shooting and tenpin bowling, all with his trademark gusto. Though none of these attracted ratings of any note, for those who saw them they were delectable, often hilarious cameos."

It was hilarious, he would go from a whisper to almost a scream but would accent some random word in the sentence. "He MADE this shot before and WILL probably make it again for the win."

I've been working every day, but I am not doing all the matches. There are actually four different crews, shared by Anthony, Biboy, Bob and myself. They have asked me to do the final match though on Sunday.
