Just wanted to know everyone's opinion. Am I the only one who enjoys 'unique' commentators? Such as Mataya, Delaberto, Jim Wyche and the crazy guy from England {Mosconi cup}.Thanks for your replys! Regards, Kennyratt

I'm a grumpy old guy who doesn't suffer fools or new stuff very well, so forgive me. The pool broadcasts have too much "this is what he's gonna do" and the sports broadcasts have too much "this is what he did". Hey, my lady friend is in the kitchen making brownies, I KNOW what's going on; I'M WATCHING, for Christ's sake. I don't need to be spoon fed, just tell some war stories when things are slow, and maybe some background, but don't trample on the action. Go, Gators!

If the "crazy guy from England" is Sid Waddell then you have my sympathy. He drives me nuts & has done for about 30 years!!!:(

Mataya, Waddell,ect.

Yeah, I guess I was refering to the 'COLOR' commentating. Mataya is funny & unique; Deliberto gives good analysis, great road stories; And Waddell is just hillarious! Regards, Kennyratt

I hope I am not alone when I say that you have a GREAT voice and that you would have no problem at all doing commentary for The Action Challenge matches.

Doing radio, voice over, or color commentary work is not easy at all. People are always going to have their favorites, but anybody that has been in the booth can tell you that its not easy to ad lib - you have to be on your toes constantly - you're not there to provide dead air (silence) - nor should you have to break down and describe every little part of the action. You should allow the viewer time to absorb what is going on visually and emotionally, and provide commentary that will amplify that.

For almost 20 years I have said that Billy Incardona is THE BEST commentator in the history of pool - I'm sure if ESPN realized this that their pool broadcasts would be of much better quality. I don't think it matters who you put in the booth with Billy or Grady - it will always be top notch and the other guy will sound better just because either Billy or Grady is there.

My favorites are Danny DiLiberto, Allen Hopkins and Ewa Mataya. And that crazy dude from England.
