Just a best travel suggestion-

For those that need travel info, here is the best way to get to the location:

The Hyatt, New Brunswick is located 2 blocks away from the train station(walking distance). The line is the "Northeast Corridor" and this line also services Amtrak. The Amtrak code is NBK. Also, the recommended airport would be Newark Liberty (EWR). From EWR, you can take the Air Train shuttle to the NJ Transit train, then hop a NJ Transit train(headed south or towards Trenton) to the New Brunswick station. The fare is around $12 USD and should take about 30 minutes, with stops. Once at the NB station, you are about 2 blocks away from the hotel or, a 5 minute walk. The same directions apply if you are commuting from NYC, only that you will start at Penn Station, instead of the EWR Air Train. A taxi ride from the airport would be about $80 USD.

If you are driving, the hotel is conveniently located near the NJ Turnpike exit 9 (East Brunswick). From the exit, it is about a 10 minute drive. Take Rt. 18 north towards New Brunswick (about 3-4 miles).

Latest traffic/flooding report as of Mon morning

The flooding is mostly around the river area. All the other areas away from there are fine, tho. Unfortunately, the hotel is right by the river.

Rt. 18 is shut down from the Rt. 1/Rt. 18 intersection to the the John Lynch bridge. It's completely flooded. The Hyatt is a block off Rt. 18, by the Albany St. bridge, which is in between the JL bridge and Rt. 1 closure. The river crested last nite and spilled over onto the highway. Best guess is that is might be a day or two before that section of Rt. 18 opens, which, is the main route to the Hyatt hotel.

This is the best way to go:

If you are driving, take the NJ Turnpike (coming from the north or south) and get off on exit 9. From there, take Rt. 18 north for about a half mile to Rt. 1 south. Take Rt. 1 south for about 3/4 mile to *Ryder's Lane*. Take Ryder's Lane and then, bear left onto Clifton Ave. Go about a 1/4 mile and make a left onto George St. Take George (about a mile) to Albany St. Make a right onto Albany. The hotel is a couple of blocks up, on the right.

You're taking the back way, thru the city, so expect stop and go traffic.

Any route along the river line is prolly gonna be fvcked up for a day or two. This includes Rt. 18. Also, the airport reopens at 12 noon, today (some inbound flights have been trickling in).

*NJ Transit train and Amtrak service is still suspended*

As of Monday morning, the only way in will be to drive (or take a helicopter, if you can afford it).

Once in NJ, turn your FM radio to 101.5. They offer the best traffic reports every 10-15 inutes. The areas you are listening for is *Rt. 18 new brunswick/Albany St. bridge/Rt. 18 between Rt. 1 & John Lynch Bridge*. Also, you can go to www.nj1015.com and get real time traffic reports from the website, as well as tune into the live radio broadcast via Interweb, to listen for the traffic reports (if you are outside of the NJ radio area).

Many thanks for taking the time to post this, Eric.

Rt. 18 is now open.

NJ Transit trains will run from NYC & Newark airport to New Bruns starting 5 am Tues.

Steve get a train to New Brunswick. This should take a little less than an hour. Cost about $13.00 one way. Grab a cab, short ride to hotel. It may even be walking distance.

For Thursday, there is a Rutgers Football game, kickoff at 7.30p. This, on top of rush hour, might make Rt. 18 traffic a lil rough, at that time.

Getting to the day session should be no problem. Leaving the day session may be tricky. If you are planning on getting to the night session you should plan on arriving early.
