Compatible thread patterns?

An Az'er has a butt for sale with a 5/16x14 piloted joint. My Joss shafts are described as 5/16x14. Is there a difference, and will Joss shafts fit on a piloted joint?

it should fit no problem...just know that your not going to have as good a seat of the shaft since it wont have a nipple to go into the piloted section of the butt's joint.

but to make it simple yes it will screw on

joss shafts are usually piloted too.

The threads will most likely screw together but if the OD of the shaft pilot is bigger than the ID of the butt pilot area they will not screw together completely. The Joss pilots' OD may have to be cut smaller to fit into the butt recess.

Also the diameter of the shafts and the butt at the joint may be different and you will have a lip.
