It doesn't matter what your shaft is made of -- you're just wasting money, unless you're a pro player being sponsored to use a particular shaft -- the difference is minuscule.

I can miss with any shaft. I play with Predator Pre-Cat 314 shafts and have no reason to change.I have beautiful old growth shafts, I mean beautiful, that I don't use.
Confession : I am not fond of the black carbon fiber, guess I'm living in the not so far past and
somewhat a traditonalist, or stubborn.

True story,,,,, I don't want to shake hands, not even a head nod.
After the match I could go with a shake and nothing to say.

Yeah, I wouldn't agree that CF is overrated, but I also don't believe that it is superior to wood from a playing standpoint. The durability is really the big advantage. It seems absurd that a CF shaft costs about $500 when a CF tennis racquet costs $250. Then again a wood shaft costs $120 and up, which is a lot for a few ounces of wood.

I have seen a few boring games of one pocket, even from top players, but I've also seen some amazing games full of suspense and drama.

$500 upper end carbon fiber
$120 lower end (for quality anyway) wood...
Without looking, I suspect tennis racquet makers pump out a lot more product than the niche cue sport, there are benefits to economies of scale, what does tennis have to do with pool?
I like my carbon fiber, I like my wood, but I don't have to dislike something just because I choose not to use it.

I don't like playing or watching one pocket matches and think SW cues are way over-rated.

There I said it.

I knew the International event was going on, but when I realized it was one pocket, was a bit disappointed. But it led me to wonder who else held somewhat unpopular opinions about pool that would get you generally booed in a big time pool hall hehe.
I probably have too many confessions to make, but...

Although I know there is no difference in Master Blue with or without the US Flag, and even though I have reported too many times to count that Tweetens and Skip Nemecek have laid to rest any such "formula change" theories with respect to the US Flag on the label, and even though Tweetens still make No Flag Masters chalk for certain countries....

I have and hoard over 100 cubes of Pre-Flag Blue Masters Chalk. Many of them came from a bar box that I bought last year.

There... I said it.

I like barbox 8-ball.

God, I feel dirty just saying it.

Barbox eight ball was the perfect game to make money while hiding speed. You can get lucky a lot without people being sure one way or another. I had a sneaky old road player scout me three nights. He said he thought it was luck the first night, still thought it might be luck the second night, said nobody in the world gets that lucky three nights in a row! He busted me without me ever shooting a flashy shot. Smart guy, I think it was Tom Ferry, OldHasBeen. One of the great members here from the old days.

The old adage…

You don’t hide speed by missing shots. You hide speed by missing shape.

You‘re right. It’s the perfect game for that…

Upside down chalk is a funny habit and seems to be hard to break. I do see that a lot of Hispanic players do that, and even when I explain why it's not a good idea, they still continue to do it. Maybe it's the norm in places like Puerto Rico.
it's the norm to macho ur way thru any sound advice bc I didn't do it as a mistake or out of ignorance, I did it bc thats how I wanna do it, gringo
