Just wanted to say congrats to Ga-young again!

She is going to be a champ for a long time cause there seems to be no-other lady that can rival her. Her break - and kicking knowledge and cue power is just awesome. And she's a pleasure to watch - except when things don't go her way.

I think the only one - maybe Pan, may compete - but I don't remember seeing her on the charts. Anyone know what happened to Pan?

Recent WPA Championships do not bear out that Ga Young is the best. She is simply one of the truly elite, along with Kelly Fisher, Rubilen Amit, Siming Chen and Sasha Liu. Actually, in the past few years, I'd guess Kelly Fisher has spent quite a bit more time holding the #1 ranking than Ga Young or anyone else.

That said, Ga Young is an incredible player and has been for a long time, but I'd call your suggestion that she's head and shoulders above the rest uninformed.

Of course, you are entitled to your opinion, and you may feel she's playing better pool than anyone right now.

My money is on Ga Young to become the first Asian-born woman to be inducted into the BCA Hall of Fame. She can blaze the trail for the Asian women, just as Korean Sang Lee and Filippinos Efren Reyes and Francisco Bustamante did for the Asian men.

I have to agree with sjm, and this is coming from a huge Ga Young fan.

I also agree about the BCA hall of fame, although Masako Katsura may deserve those honors first.

Who on earth is Masako Katsura?

Thanks for mentioning her brief, but valuable accomplishment. Quite awesome.

Ga Young is probably the top womans player in the World right now.

Actually, she isn't. She won no WPA events in 2013 and her WPA ranking is presently #14. Although she won the 2012 World 10-ball championship, her last World 9-ball championship came in 2006. She is a great player, but cannot possibly be viewed as the best right now.

Her win at the just completed WPBA event is a nice start to 2014, but until she backs it up against the most elite at the WPA events such as Amway, the China Open, the World 9-ball Championship and the World 10-ball championship, the jury is still out.

Not one of Han Yu, Sasha Liu, Rubilen Amit, Allison Fisher, Xiaoting Pan, Yuan Chun Lin, or Xiaofang Fu was present this past weekend at the WPBA event. In fact, just two of the top 10 in the world based on WPA ranking were present.

Don't forget Ga Young Kim's win at the 2013 Ultimate 10 Ball in Tunica. She is an elite WPBA player but alike the men, there are many that can keep up in a worlds competition aspect.

Yes, well said.
