CONGRATS TO MIKE ALONZO 2011 bca open 8ball champion

Mike did everything he was supposed to. I watched all his matches from Monday till he won it. He was not in the casino drinking, not out all night without sleep, not at the pool hall, and not at the casino going off all night. Mike deserved this win because he did everything he was supposed to get this win. I respect him for what he did and know for a fact there were at least 20 players who play better than him. I would bet that out of those 20 players they were not in the room getting rest, practicing before matches, and watching what they eat. He played hard and got a few rolls but you have to win a 1328 player tournament. Could not of happened to a nicer guy who did everything right! I also know there was not a chop because you know why Alonzo went for it all he has gamble. I heard that Paul Mitchell will be his sponsor next year!

By the way the second place kid was a great player. He is a real nice kid as well and for 16 years old he plays such great patterns. I have a lot of respect for him as well because I watched alot of his matches to and look forward to seeing him in the pros! Congrats to Chris Byers as well!

Well said, that type of discipline is real strong, especially when you add Sin City in!!!

Yes congrats. Texas made a deep run this year. Little hand, gordy, and others.....

Texas (Houston) owned the 2011 BCA

1st Mens Open - Mike Alonzo (Houston)
1st Womens Open - Jennifer Kraber (Austin/Houston)
1st Super Seniors - Bob Green (Houston)
2nd Mens Masters - Gus Correa (Houston)
2nd Mens Advanced Team - Assassins (Houston)

There were others too, from Texas and Houston that showed well, but with that type of hardware, I think it's safe to say that Houston can go toe to toe with just about anywhere.

Congrats to everyone! See you again in 2012!

First of all, Texas is killing at BCA's.

Mike and the 2nd place finisher played 3 sets in the tourney and all 3 went hill-hill! Glad Machine Gun Mike came out with the dough.

Not taking anything away from Mike, but the kid he played was 16. This was a good tourney to open some doors, as well as lose some action:D
