The guys in the Midwest are really cleaning up the big awards this year!

Just out of curiousity...APA is handicapped, was this 3 man handicapped? If so, what was their rating?

Isn't Ike Runnels a pro? If not, he should be considered one IMO. He has to be the best APA player in the world.

I am not sure how they did it, they all have to be 9's so their must have been a spot for them. I do know that they won against Jason Kirkwoods team which wasn't a easy team either. I am sure we will hear more next week when they get home.

Other "amateurs" include John Abruzzo, Scott Tollefson, and Larry Schwartz.

Apa

If im not mistaken they would have played in what is called top gun league. However i would have thought that it would have been for the best in the apa leagues not pros working over the amatures. At least that was the way it was here in Atlanta our operator wouldnt let some of our best play. Considered them pro . Just my two cent"s worth.

How ever the rating was done or skill level you've got to admit, they beat some VERY good players. Again my congratulations. All three are pretty good dudes too.

Ike, Sargent, and Idotro beat Jason Kirkwood, Branden Ashcraft and a guy named Kenny in the finals. I believe these guys were from Detroit. All of them were APA 9's but there are no handicaps in the Triple Play division. Ike beat Kenny 7-3 or 7-4 and Idotro beat Kirkwood 7-5. Richie had Jason down 6-1 after making the 8 on the break twice and playing a few good racks, in the last rack Jason miscued on the 4 ball giving Richie BIH, there is a good chance he would have run out the set if not for the miscue. Jeff Sargent and Branden Ashcraft never got to play. The guys from Chicago won $7500 for 1st, and 2nd paid $3300. I saw Kirkwood take off a mini, most pay $160 for first, I know he was playing in others and would be surprised if he didn't win more of them.

What's this

I know players not able to play in the local APA because they are too good. There speed a little bit less and a little bit more than Sargent and Runnels.
