Congratulations Shane Vanboeing in winning your tour card to The IPT.

Shane is a great guy who has played in many of our events. Both Bob and I hope he continues to play well and win loads of cash.

Shane's home poolroom is great too!

Shane is a very nice young man, with great manners, and superb playing skills. He also sports a distinct advantage over many other players, with his disability in both ears, which allows no distraction from outside sounds(especially if he turns his hearing aids off). Shane is also part-owner of Breaktime Billiards in Sioux Falls, SD. Breaktime has been there a few years, but until recently, was not well run. It is now in the hands of people who really know how to run a poolroom, and I expect it to do extremely well. I heartily recommend this room to anyone traveling through S.F. Shane has his own 9' Gabriel table, and plays there every day, when he's in town. Now that he's made his IPT card, I would bet we'll see him finish well in upcoming events. Congratulations Shane! Keep up the good work!...and to Jack & the crew at Breaktime...Great Job! I look forward to teaching lessons there, when I'm in town, and running a pool school with Randyg soon too!

Scott -

I know you had an incident where you were charged table time while teaching there--and I agree that was short-sighted and don't defend it. But you're painting with a rather broad brush here.

Sioux Falls has a nice downtown, and Breaktime has been a nice room right in the middle of it for several years now. Overall it's been pretty well run, by the likes of Randy, Marc, Jack, Big Joe T., Jeri.... I gather now Jason F. and Chuck M. bought it and Shane is in the mix somehow. These are all good people who I suspect will do an excellent job. Let's hope it's a good room that gets even better. I too recommend people travel through that way and stop by. How far is it from Wall drug?

I look forward to my next trip to the sunny south...

WTG Shane !!

Shane is one of the good guys!! Having met him several years ago, I know how proud he is of his accomplishment, as everyone who knows him is!!

Mike, I stand by what I said...

Mike...Actually, Breaktime has had a revolving door succesion of managers, for a number of reasons. I don't consider that running a business well. The one excellent manager they did have (for a short time), Jack Moulton, brought in all kinds of new league and tournament play, which was not the case with others before or after him. Thankfully, he is one of the new owners, and I believe that his efforts, along with those helping him (including Shane), will result in Breaktime being a better run room than it has ever been. jmo Although, you're correct about the incident there involving table time, the issue was me being charged 4x the going rate, with no notice, in the middle of a lesson...not about being charged at all! The new owners have assured me that will never happen again!

S.F. is 300 miles from Wall, btw. LOL:D

I had the pleasure to watch Shane play a few times and he seemed very quiet and well mannered.

I did not know he had to wear hearing aids.

Could anyone please tell me how old he is?

Having won the VNEA Masters (8 ball bar box) title 3 years in a row SVB probably had as much of a claim as anyone to be invited to play on the IPT. I would be interested to know if he applied late or not at all?

I think SVB along with Darren Appleton will be my two dark hourse to do very well indeed on the IPT proper - watch out for the 8 ball specialists.
