I spent some time with one. We used to have one at Mothers. 2 inch slate makes jumping sweet. Plus you actually can just very barely even hear the ball when it hits a rail. You can take and just sling a ball by hand 6 rails around the table...and its like someone hit the "mute" button.
You'll enjoy it.
I play on them twice a week at least in league. They are very nice tables when properly maintained. The ones I play on could be better maintained, but that isn't the tables fault. The balls never make a sound rolling on that 2" slate. One danger is that there is a 3rd seam the installer can screw up. The shelf is a little deeper in the corner pockets than a GC. This causes speed to have a big effect on the balls rattling in the pocket. If you hit balls fast now, I'd suggest you get used to rolling a little softer and you'll rattle a lot fewer. I think you'll enjoy them.
They are great playing tables. The slate alone weighs about 1500 lbs. They hold up pretty well too. Just a little harder to level with the 4 piece slate.
