Hello everyone - we're searching for a used Pool table to start practicing and getting back into the hobby again! :)

We came across a used GC III priced at $1200 with no visible scratches or scuffs. What questions or known issues should we be aware of with this particular brand?

Does price sound reasonable?

Appreciate any help from the experts.

Cheers,
Mick

I would jump all over that.

Might need new cushions(Superspeed $160) and cloth(Simonis 860 $330).

Find a quality installer in the area!

No more than 2500 total and you could have a great playing table.

For reference, a shop in Houston wanted 3500 for a GC3 installed.

Arguably one of the best tables made. If it's a 9 footer, buy one for me!

You're going to need a quality mechanic anyway. Have him check it out just to be safe & confident. Also ask what the ancillary costs will be...

Slates are everything. Are they a matched set, nice clean surface....no chips, cracks , etc. Have the table looked at if possible by a qualified mechanic.

I would check the rubber....GC IIIs had issues.
...if the rubber is dead, offer $800.

Thanks so much, excellent advice from you all as expected! Not to divert from the thread too much, but what is the typical cost for a very good table mechanic?

Contact John burns. He is the best choice in our area.
