considering a table

Hi folks...I am starting to look for a pool table. I have played off and on over the years, and am pretty good with whom I play with ... but know im a total novice.. haha

I have been lurking a bit around here doing some research on tables. I am considering an refurbished gold crown or a new diamond.

I really like the look of the refurbished old gold crowns..but notice many guys are not modifying the rails for the newer cushions that are installed. How does this affect the play of the table?

This will be a famliy table used by novice players.

I figured if im going to get a table in my house, I would like to go with a quality table and have something to be proud of. I sure like the diamonds as well, but not many used around here...and new they are spendy for me.

Imo

Over the years I have had a World of Leisure, a Gandy Big G Limited, and since 2000 two New Diamonds, the 1st. a red label and now a Diamod Blue label. I can not say enough about the quality and playability of the Diamond tables, also the company prides itself on it's service. With the economy being what it is you may find a great deal right here on AZ for a used one that would be right in your price range.A friend of mine has always been a Brunswick fan he just recently had a new Diamond installed and can't be happier.Good luck with your new table no matter what you choose.

Hi
When buying a new pool table all must be a novice players only even me too ha ha ha.

i dono to handle my pool table and pool cues first then day by day i used to play and i learnt to handle.

While you buying pool table collect details in Google and then buy but i bought my pool table in one San Diego store.I have their contact no for more queries contact then and ask.Contact No:858-277-0450.

I looked online and eventually bought an Olhausen Grand Champion 3. I put the Hainsworth cloth on it for a faster playing surface, and very pleased with the product.

I wanted a durable product that could handle a lot of play, and this is considered a commercial table.

The drop pockets are a plastic bucket, and to reduce the placticky (sp) sound when pocketing balls, I put 2-3 layers of black felt on the bottom of the bucket to give it a more pleasing sound.
