Conventions to go to - from a vendors perspective

I'm curious as to what conventions everybody would suggest going to, if you were a billiard apparel vendor (i.e. Pooltees)? Although we're growing fairly steadily, being that Pooltees is still a small company with a few staffmembers, we're limited in the amount of conventions we can have people commit to right now. We know that the August APA Team Championships in Vegas is the best. And we're located on the Northeast Coast so we hit up all the Valley Forge Tournaments.

But what other ones do people suggest we commit to? What's on par with the APA Team Championships and Valley Forge? What's going to be worth committing the time, and travel expenses to get to?

Much thanks!

Add the BCA Trade Expo and BCA Team Nationals (both in Vegas for 07).

That is about all that are really worthwhile.

You might consider the Derby, but that could be hit or miss.

It depends on what you want to accomplish. Hopkins, the APA, VNEA, and BCA Championships will put you directly in front of the players who buy smaller volumes at retail prices.
The BCA Trade show brings in pool room owners, retailers, and others in the billiard industry. Those buyers are going to be more interested in volume purchases at wholesale pricing.
Depending on how you plan to grow your business, different shows offer different opportunities.

thanks for the feedback.

The BCA Trade Show is the one we're most curious about. We haven't yet been there but we find it hard to fathom that pool room owners are flying all the way out to Vegas, just to shop for stuff to bring back to their pool hall, rather than just pick it out of a catalog.

Anyone have any thoughts on this???

This is an industry only event. They do not come to bring stuff back with them.

They come with checkbook and CC in hand to place orders. You only need to bring samples with you and an order book & catalogs.

Of course you'll need a banner and the always complimentary hot chick wearing your apparel that is far too tight for her to breathe in :D

thanks for the feedback. one additional followup question. i had read that the BCA Expo in vegas is going downhill and getting fewer attendees each year. any truth to that?

again, just having a difficult time getting my head around the fact that people travel all the way out there to buy and not even to play.

thanks again!
