Converting Blanks Cost

I'm still relatively new to the forum. Just wondering what the cost to have a blank made into a good butt with a good shaft might run?
I have to Canadian made/aged Dufferin blanks I want to have converted for myself and a friend.
I know some about cue-making, etc. but far from claiming that I know anything in stone.
If any cue-maker wants to convert the butt over and include a solid-stiff shaft for a reasonable price let me know.
Also, let me know the pro's con's of converting a blank.
I greatly appreciate any input and info.
Best to everyone.

This is not something I do any longer, but I did a lot of conversions 20 years ago. Get some calipers and check the diameters at 29 inches from the end of the butt and the butt end also. This will let you know your options on cutting it down to normal cue dimensions if you are wanting custom cue spec conversions made out of them. If you are just wanting to leave the butts just like they are with no retapering or finish work, and are wanting just a joint pin and a shaft there should be a good bit of guys on here who will do it reasonably. I would guess that route might about one and half times the shaft cost. But a full blown conversion with retapering, rings, butt plate, new bumper and refinishing will cost a lot more as it is almost as much trouble as building a cue from scratch.
Alot of the Dufferins have a bulge in the taper of the handle section and they may not roll perfectly straight if not retapered. That will not be the cuemakers fault if just a shaft and joint is added. I hope this helps you make up your mind.

You can expect to pay the typical price for a "sneaky pete", depending on who you get to do the work for you, the price will vary.
If you read the forum rules, prices and sales type questions and answers do not belong here... Try the wanted / for sale section!

typlically i charge much less to do a sneaky compared to say a davis or prather blank.. altho it is the same amount of work. for this reason i dont make many sneakies. i have to really really REALLY like you for you to get a sneaky from me...

Thank you all for your valuable input. I do greatly appreciate it.
Merry Christmas.
