Corey just lost to Mika Immonen, 11 to 8.

Rodney Morris is struggling, 6 to 1, with Chang.

Jeremy Jones is waiting in the wings to get up to bat. The tension is building...

Rodney just got another score, but still stuck at 6 to 2. :(

I really enjoy seeing Rodney wearing those Hawaiin shirts. He always has a great presence at any event he competes in. Even when he is on TV, his gentle personality conveys nicely on camera. He's one of the good guys!

Come on, Rodney, pull this one out!

JAM

7 to 2, Rodney benched.

By the way, I am wondering, at this late stage, what the format is at the WPC. Is it alternate break or winner breaks?

This isn't looking good, folks!

HIP, HIP, HOORAY. [Loud round of applause.]

Rodney got a game, 7 to 3. I can hear the Rocket breaking 'em now! :D

JAM

Here comes Rodney: 7 to 4

You gotta' love this guy. He's all heart!

JAM

YIKES! My heart is pounding with every click of the mouse!

The Rocket's red glare. He's on a roll, 7 to 5! Go get 'em, Rodney! :D

Picture of Rodney "The Rocket" Morris at the Skin Billiards Championships held at the Atlantic City Hilton. Rodney was one of the top four money winners, pocketing about 25,000-plus, as I recall.

He played perfect at the Mosconi Cup didn't he?

Rodney is a team player. I'll bet all of the American players are sitting in the stands rooting him in. He aims to please. It is now 7 to 6, and the game is anybody's at this juncture.

WOW!

Hey JAM, I have a video of Gabe playing Keith at Rumor's Club in Wichita about 8 years ago when Gabe was a teenager!! Gabe had the club tape that match! Of course Gabe was the winner challenged at the end, but he was excited to play Keith. Keith taught him a few more lessons in the school of hard knocks at that tournament!

The score is tied at 7 to 7. Rodney is unstoppable when he gets in his rhythm. This is thrilling, and it is now a race to 4. :)

was wrong to count rodney out he was down 7-2 now tied 7-7 don't see how anyone could root against him

wondered if gabes mom heard anything about this story, as told by niels on his site:

Third match on table 3 and spider story!!

Yo Yo,

Just found out I have to play the third match on table 3 which should be around 20:00.

Got a cool inside story for ya...

Ran into my man Gabe Owen in the lobby this morning and I asked him if he made it through his group. He said yeah and then he told me a story about his second to last match!! He was playing Louis Condo jr from Australia on table 8 which is all the way in the corner where I played Thorsten Schober. They were in the match and he returned to his seat when he saw a huge spider sitting on the wall only a couple of meters above his chair!! He said it was the size of his hand!!! Holy shit, I would have shit myself hahaha as a spiderfreak. Gabe said he did shit himself haha. He thought of just letting it sit there but he said Louis Condo thought he was the crocidile hunter and started poking the thing with his cue!!! It came down from the wall onto the floor and started jumping toward Johnny Archer and Jeremy Jones who were sweating Gabe's match!! They were all starting to freak out when Louis started to pound the thing with his feet and squached it to peices!!! How do you like that folks??!! Playing to survive the group...all of a sudden surviving a big ass spider hahaha. ;)

Keith's definitely a Road's Scholar in his own right! (LOL) I heard quite a few stories about some action games in the Midwest. I'll bet Gabe was a really cute kid growing up. He's still got that baby face.

Do you think Rodney is going to pull this off? I think he's unstoppable.

He's up 8-7! GO ROCKET POWER!

Can't wait til he gets back to the states and maybe I can go to Capone's and meet him.

Rodney Morris is a powerful player. His strength is his self-confidence. I like this guy's style, and all of the players respect and admire Rodney.

Keep it going, Rodney, and give 'em hell.

Oh boy, I'm sure Keith has every story there is, has experienced it ALL in his career!! He's been living a long lustrous career!
Gabe's always had me following his sports, since T-ball when he was 7 yrs old, and his many years of baseball and summer umpiring jobs too. He was soooo serious at baseball, my gosh! He always got put on the all star teams at the end of seasons. So I'm so used to following his sports, the many years of baseball, short stint in soccer, and now almost 15 years in pool. Just getting older, can't do as much as I used to. Love to keep up what I can though.
Thanks for all your info!! Love it.
GO RODNEY!
